I bought this product because it is less expensive than TurboTax, but the savings are not worth it. Updating the product is never smooth. I have to go and manually download the updates. This year it forced me to update the software after I initiated an electronic send of my tax forms. It already charged my credit card. The in software update looks like it works, but I should have stopped and went manual when upon restart it alerted of updates. I didn't, and when I sent it a second time there was a second charge and failure. It finally worked with a manual download of the updates from the website and a third send and charge. The two extra charges are still pending, so it remains to be seen what other extra effort this will have caused me.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

H&R Block has been, for several years, been my "go to" software to complete my taxes. Simplicity ranks high on my list when tackling tasks such as filing taxes, H&R Block has it!
