It's good except if you need help

The software said my donations to thrift stores needed a property selected before filing the return. But it wasn't obvious what to select and no guidance or explanation of the options was given, so I deleted all the thrift store donations. I think in the past I could get help with getting answers to questions. It left me disappointed with this software.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It was great except for the part where I was all done entering my last W2 when the program decided to crash and I had to start all over again.

I have used H&R Block for 6 years now - used a competitive product for a few years prior to that. Personally, I like the Block product much better; more intuitive with great features.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

Satisfied with switch to Block

I switched from my decades long association with TaxAct to efile my 2019 return. I am retired with mutual stock and bond investments. I selected to use the Deluxe 2019 software. It was easy to download and set up. I mainly made the switch to obtain the document import feature to receive and properly apply all of my stock market tax forms to my 2019 return. This is a feature not offered by TaxAct, at least not with the programs that I had been using. I was impressed with how fast and accurate the import process went.
