Was a TurboTax user for many years. That ended this year when TT was no longer compatible with windows 10. Big mistake on their part, I liked H&R better. More user friendly and cheaper to boot.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Worked very well on my two federal returns. Absolutely loved that I wasn’t forced to upgrade Windows like that other tax software! TY!! Only suggestion is there sh be a shortcut way to resume the interview after jumping to a form(s). Not a biggie. You just hv to know/remember what topic/form you left off at during the in progress interview process. Otherwise, Deluxe worked flawlessly. The price point was right compared to a) historical pricing, b) vs online preparation methods (which are way over-priced) and c) the other tax software company.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Irritates me that you purchase the state software but cannot file it electronically without an additional cost. I utilize it but then file using the free state website. Creates extra work but I will not pay an additional fee over what I already paid.

Was using TurboTax but switched to H&R when Intuit decided to do everything online. I don't want my personal data exposed to multiple attack vectors.
H&R was fairly straightforward if a bit terse and an interface that is a little clumsy but I experienced no real difficulty and notwithstanding some personal questions finished rather quickly. I will continue to use H&R.
