I’ve been using H&R tax software for many years, It’s convenient the way it carries over data from one year to the next. I wish there was a utility to run a mock return for the current year to calculate estimated taxes.

Works great but be careful if you have Windows 10

I have used the tax software for at least six years. The only problem with the 2025 tax year version is it doesn't recognize that I have Windows 10 on my laptop, but there are about 6 perfectly installed versions from previous years running on that laptop!! As a retired computer programmer, I would call this an epic fail from the programming team. They should investigate how other products continue to work with older operating systems. My prime example would be "Reaper" which runs on everything from Windows XP to Windows 10.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I’ve used this same software for several years. I like it because it is user friendly and can download information from previous years and plug it into the current year’s information. Price is very good too if you take advantage of early price discounts.
