The H&R Block Federal and State Tax software is reasonably straightforward and easy to download and use. When you purchase both together, it's annoying that the software doesn't ask what State tax forms you need since you just purchased both Federal and State options, but instead when you wade through entering the Federal information, you then have to pause and download your appropriate State. That's the main reason the software doesn't get 5 stars.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Easier this year than last years when it comes to Federal and state comingled deductions. I live in the state of Iowa and found that I had to do quite a few forms. This time I just entered what I had and only had to do one form on the state side (vehicle taxes) and it was entered to my federal side once I entered the state numbers. Much better!! Now if they can get rid of all the forms and just use the data, I'll give them 5 stars!!
