After many years of using TurboTax, I switched to H&R Block last year to try something new and I wasn’t disappointed. The software is easy to use and when completed, getting status updates to your filing. I liked it so much that I used it again this year. One suggestion is to put the AGI next to the box where you display the refund as you work on the return. Thank you!!!

Switched from turbotax but...

I switched this year from turbotax and was astonished that I could not import my tax data from my Merrill Lynch account. I thought is was an error that would be corrected during an update but I was wrong. So I spent several hours entering Schedule B info. Not what I was expecting, definitely disappointed.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this thinking, state e-file was also free, that's not the case.
The software is a little hard to navigate at times and sometimes I totally got stuck in a loop. Lots of improvements could be used to make it more user friendly.

Intuit is clueless re: Distribution Code T, Basis Not Determined on Roth Distributions even though the accounts have been open longer than five years. With five investment accounts, why put up with stupidity?
