I’ve used H&R Block software for over 10 years, the last 4 years using the MAC software. During the last 2 years I’ve had trouble pulling up the software after shutting down and logging in later. It won’t start when clicking on the icon or when using Finder. I’ve tried to use “start on login” which doesn’t help. The only way I can get back in is actually clicking on the saved tax file I was working on . I then get a message that I closed out incorrectly or something similar. I’m actually considering changing to Turbo Tax just because of this issue,
Other than that I like the software and find it easy to use.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using the H & R Block software for at least 5 years, everything is good except for one part that needs to be fixed.When printing,I think any schedules that were not actively part of the particular return,should not be allowed to print.That would save time and money...

It wouldn't let me import a large consolidated 1099 from Fidelity, because there were too many transactions (> 2000). And because of that, it wouldn't import the rest of my Fidelity 1099s. And there is no way to import from pdf files on my computer. So I had to enter them all in manually. Not fun!

I was disappointed this year's program was not updated to import to import Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith brokerage 1099-Div and 1099-B like I understand Turbo Tax was.
Cons: Hard to import documents
