Fairly decent this is only my second time I used this software. I usually use turbo tax but last year it wouldn’t work on my MacBook.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

I've been doing income taxes for some 60 years. So far my Federal and State taxes were e-filed, and allegedly accepted. This was my first year using H.R. Block. (1) A couple of issues: (1) Would like to be able to save my file at any time, but must close the form I'm working on to save. Then must reopen the form to continue. (2) When printing, either to hardcopy or to PDF, the H.R. Block print process does not understand an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Text is truncated/clipped at top and bottom of pages. (3) The accuracy review spots entry issues, but also flags items that were absolutely correctly entered (such as 1099 data). This creates angst when trying to e-file, wondering if the files will actually go forward. (4) The desktop version refused to claim to be up-dated on my Windows 11 machine after numerous attempts. (Don't know why.) However, I reinstalled on a Windows 10 machine (lacking anti-virus programs, not my first choice), and up-dates were accepted, and files e-filed successfully. Note: my personal feeling is that tax prep software must be backward compatible. It is obnoxious for such software (like Turbo Tax) to necessitate the user to (a) update (3rd party) operating systems or (b) purchase new computers periodically in order to avoid the dysfunctionalization of other (often very pricey) software and/or peripherals. I'm hoping that H.R. Block income tax prep software will continue to be more user-friendly.

Have used this same software from Block since 2009. This was the first year I had any difficulty loading the software on my Apple laptop that I use on the road traveling to do taxes. By the time it finally loaded correctly I had used the max 5 downloads so it took a long time to figure out how to get it moved successfully onto my Mac to finish, print and file
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
