Not horrible, but nothing to strongly recommend...

Have been using this program for a decade. It works, I guess, but it's a bit frustrating beyond just the experience of taxes. Once again, did not install on a Mac and I had to manually create folders to be able to get it to install. This year I submitted my E-file and the submission was rejected, only to be informed after I had submitted that there was a known issue relevant to my situation and I had to wait for a future release -- couldn't you have told me that before I thought my taxes were complete? Overall, I wish the US went to the simpler tax filing of other nations. How many points of GDP are being lost by all the citizens working thru this silliness?

Most of the experience went smoothly. But the final step of filing did not. The necessary updates, particularly with Ohio and Ohio School District forms had not been provided. Tech services was not aware of this problem and could not solve the problem. It took several days to complete the filing successfully.

I bought this during the BF sales last year. I've use HR&B Deluxe for many years now. I had a challenge this year as when I imported by 1099s from 2 different companies, the aggregated Var-S total was the same for both. Obviously one was in error. I used AI to try and unwind as the individual amounts within the total were correct, the grand total line was incorrect. Unfortunately, there was no way to ungroup the short sales which resulted in having to manually re-input each trade plus reconcile time. According to AI, a known issue which should have been resolved.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
