While we owed Federal, we received from State. H&R made the process simple and had all the questions necessary to maximize deductions and credits.

It works just fine. It is easy to understand and you do get the free efile for Fed taxes.
Two minor problems:
1- doing the final check, I got a warning about last year filing itemized deductions. I didn't. And I did not know what to do about the warning. I just ignored.
