Switched from Turbo Tax. Better platform but could use some adjustments. Took too long to find several areas to input important information about IRA distributions and QCD. Would like a CD for future references.
Pros: Easy to import documents

I bought my deluxe HR Block software last month. I also do the kids taxes for them. It doesn't take special skills to do them. I have Etrade and others that I import the info.
You need to use the same software year to year. My experience with Block started in th 90's. I'll use them again next year.

I have never had the issues I’m having this year with the software. One time it says there’s a refund (which is correct) then it says I owes over $4000! It refuses to let me file the State because it keeps asking for information that I have checked TEN times to insure it is there. I sent the Federal by efile when I got ONE that was correct and will have to file by mail the State because it refuses to let me change the things it calls out as wrong.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
