Ive used this software before with no issue. This year a form was entered and I got an error. Once they pointed out the missing data that is required there is no way to update it. I can update other areas of the form but they do not allow me to update the specific column. Its a basic calculation (i think column a minus b) but it doesnt calculate it and I cant enter it. So I cant file. I reached out to customer service and they said it was a software issue. They said they would reach back out but I have heard nothing back almost 2 weeks in. If I have to use another service because their product doesnt work they should let me know. Instead they took my money and are just leaving me to guess when it will be fixed, if ever.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

State return got me in trouble. Your program said the state owed me 2X the amount I paid in taxes.

I have been using Turbo Tax for years. However, I'm using Windows 10 and Turbo Tax quite supporting Window's 10. My laptop cannot be upgraded to Windows 11. I was between a rock and a hard place. I found that your system still supports Windows 10, got it on sale and is just as easy to use as Turbo Tax. I did my taxes in a total of 45 minutes.

Objection on the constant marketing by H&R Block

I’ve been happy with HR Block’s software for a decade more after switching from TurboTax. I have just a single complaint or objection: I usually respond pretty quickly to offers to pre-purchase the subsequent years software and for 2025 I Probably made that purchase a year or so ago. My complaint is that instead of recognizing that I already have purchased the software your marketing people continually send offers to purchase the software. They should know that I’m already a client and user and stop the incessant pitching. This year it happened that not remembering I had purchased the software. I purchased a second time late in the Calendar year probably in the fall, I just discovered that when doing my taxes last month that I had actually purchased two sets of HR Block software. There’s a lot to keep track of in life and it’s irritating That your marketing methods don’t acknowledge long time repeat customers and stop the constant emails and offers. I would definitely give Product itself five stars if it weren’t for this issue.

I have used the H&R Block tax program for quite a few years. I appreciate the free e-filing of the federal taxes; however, for the price of the program, I feel that e-filing of the state taxes should be free as well.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
