I have been using H&R Block Deluxe Tax Preparation software for many years. The basic user interface hasn't changed much in all those years, so it is very familiar and predictable. i have been happy with the product and its results. Could it use a face lift? Maybe. It's almost like using MS-DOS. Somewhat clunky, but very usable.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Your Ai Assistant sucks it would not guide me to fixes but i used my ai on my phone ad fixed everything with great detail.

I had two issues this year: 1) the form 8606 wasn't ready until the end of the first week of Feb provided was the IRS hadn't completed the form update, even though it was unchanged from previous years. I always fill the 8606 out manually first and then enter the data in the program. 2) I hadn't checked EIC but when I went to file I received a message saying I couldn't file because I wasn't eligible for the EIC. I back, unchecked it, tried to file again, and received the same message. I went back, unchecked the box and tried to file again with the same result. This happened 6 times before it finally took and I was able to file. In the past I had no such issues; disappointing this year.

I use this product every year. I think it's great. One disappointing fact is the form that needed to be updated. I've got all my stuff in early. And then it said we couldn't do it because we had to have a form updated that I was using. And it was supposed to be updated a certain date. That date came and went updated, said up can't do because we got to get the form updated next update. Anyway, you get the picture. I expect everything to be there. In your final release when I'm filing? January 31st you can file. To me it felt like just the government pushing off their responsibility. Musket hinges on you guys. Maybe you couldn't get the form done in the system? Maybe you were waiting on the government, I don't know. Regardless, I shouldn't have to wait. What's tax season supposed to start? And I can file. I want to be able to file. Even though I may not file until April. But in this case I was ready to go. January 15th. Glad to keep waiting and waiting and waiting.
