When it works fine, the software is great. Once you run into issues, the software is a piece of garbage and it's nearly impossible to get help fixing the issues. Don't buy this until it's fixed. Don't buy this if your tax filing situation is a simple one. There are cheaper and more reliable software for that.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HR Block does a good job with making taxes less daunting to file, when one has some financial complications. I really like the ability to import records. It would be good if Block could get more records importable. Also, It would be great if HR Block worked on Linix OS.

E filing was a problem this year. The system didn't think any of the five free ones were available. It said they had all been used even though none had been submitted on the activation code that worked OK. Two calls to support were required to resolve the E filing.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
