Can’t file return without updating software

Normally that wouldn’t be a problem except that you have to uninstall the software then reinstall it. I my case the reinstallation was a mess m. The file was corrupted requiring a repair which was successful. Many customers would not be able to do all that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve been using this product for over 7 years now and never had a problem. This year however after I submitted my daughters taxes by efile I tried to submit mine a couple of weeks later and it wouldn’t allow it to be filed. I tried to update the program as instructed but was unable. I finally printed and sent it by mail, still waiting for my refund. I have recommend this product to friends in the past but won’t again.

Cons: Hard to import documents

This software is very easy to use. I have been using it for many years. It carries forward all the necessary information from the previous year and downloads Brokerage information which makes filling out forms manually unnecessary.

I have been using H&R Block tax software for the past few years, and find it thorough in scope and easy to navigate. Included guarantees and assistance in case of audit, without having to pay extra fees, are great, and should be expected I would think. I used to use that "other" software, but when reasonably common tax situations became available only in a high priced option, I switched to H&R Block. This tax software includes everything, and more, than the other company's product, and I am glad I switched.
