For the past 5 years, I have purchased Deluxe Fed & State. I'm able to download and install the Federal package, but not the State software. I have to call the Help desk each year to have them email the state version. It works great once installed. I am using Windows 10. I kept getting the message....".Unable to connect to the server." I closed the firewall protection and even rebooted in safe mode, and still, I get the response that I am unable to connect to the server.

The Wisconsin tax module INCORRECTLY calculates the Credit for Taxes Paid to Other States on Schedule OS. This error was apparent but not obvious as to the cause. I spent hours researching it and that is not why I bought tax software

I like the product. My wish is that when taxes need to be filed in more than one state that a price break would be offered for additional states.
More helpful information with the new forms needed for family trusts would be helpful. I had to fudge factor myself through this experience this year. Many of us have multiple but simple events and the product needs to address the multiple issues not tell us to purchase more expert information from their company.

Lowest price is not the best bargain

I bought the software to be able to e-file and it was less expensive than competitors. I finished my taxes and I was not able to download to the server but I was able to print, so customer service returned my money.
This cost me an estimated $2,000 in stimulus money. I retired in the end of 2018 so my income went way down in 2019. It has been over six weeks and the 2019 return was not processed so they based my stimulus check on my higher 2018 income.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
