HR Block State and Federal software is very easy to use. It actually brings over all of the information from the previous year which saves a lot of time! It is also reasonably priced. I have been using it for 10 years.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Horrible UI- in accurate calculations

You guys need seriously consider re-imagining the software. I entered the IRS pin but you still ask me to provide one more pin. It should be clarified whether you need both! Your calculation for Net Investment Income Tax is flawed. You should use the increased SALT cap for calculating credit. Overall horrible experience
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

State tax version on Deluxe with State has errors!

This is my 14th year in a row using your software. This year I was disappointed in your WV State tax software. Everything I research on the WV site indicated I could file my state but your software informed me that I was not able to do so, then when I printed the completed forms it printed a form that was only needed when e-filing which made no sense at all.

I'm somewhat disappointed with this year's version. I have used this program for at least15 years without any problems. This year the program wouldn't calculate EIC properly. I reached out to the help line, and their solution was to take it to one of their tax service offices and presumably pay again for them to solve it. I finally solved it myself, by not transferring last year's info to this year's, and started from scratch. I have seen others on the internet who had the same problem.

Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
