The federal software worked great, but there was a glitch in the state or I would have given it 5 stars. Fortunately H&R Blocks phone support with a woman named Karen was just great and will certainly keep my wife and self H&R Block customers for hopefully years to come.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

The software for the State (CA) showed that I owned no penalties - however, I just received a notice from the Stare Franchise Tax Board that I owe about $18 in penalties! Not a big deal, but the software should have got that right!
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been purchasing H&R Block Deluxe for many years and I have always found the software to be so easy to follow. Even if I have a question about what I need to do, the instructions are very clear. Cost of the software I also consider to be very reasonable.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!
