I was unable to transmit the state part of the software. I ended up printing it and presenting it in person at the local state office. Don’t know what the glitch was but I didn’t have the time to analyze it as it was my last day before they were due. I should by all means be comped a next years program. That’s why I spent the extra money.
Pros: Easy to import documents

It was nice to not have to create an account (which is why I left TurboTax) but I didn't like it; not easy or straightforward like turbotax

Another year of efficient and easy preparation of my income tax. The system leads me through the necessary steps to enter the proper information. Refunds always help the attitude about the software system. Keep up the good work.

I've used HRBlock deluxe for ~20 years. It works well for basic returns, including investments. It supports K-1s as well (form 1065), but the interview questions are confusing and make it more difficult than using IRS forms directly. Help / FAQs are not useful. I had several K1s this year (MLPs), and it took some trial & error to figure out what HRB questions were referring to. I will probably try Quicken next year
User interface looks dated, looks like something from 30 years ago. Not a huge problem, but could use a facelift
