Easy, Peasy! I have used Tax Act for the last several years. After i logged in it would not produce my previously started return, after four hours, i gave up on them. Turbo Tax wanted to upsell me because i had more than one 1099. So, i looked at Block! For the price, i got all i needed, reasonably! It was easy, it was fast, and its in the mail!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Have used it for multiple years and am generally very happy with it. But this time it imported last years, showed the correct (2019) AGI, but IRS said there was a mismatch and wouldn't allow me to e-file(which stops bothFed and State).I also have confirmation e-file message from IRS last year where it shows AGI that would be needed this year.Don't know what got transmitted this year, overrode entry multiple times but each got rejected with invalid AGI. Had to file manually - which is what I pay to avoid by paying for premium

Few choices out there. Can't transfer HR Block State to your State program for free. Have to start over with entries. No disk or download to have on hand for problems down the road. Did install on Windows 7. Couldn't get answers in help section to transfer of 401 on death of relative without paying more money.

I've been using H&R since before it was. I started with Kiplingers Tax-cut years ago. And, I've loved it. My taxes and the laws have gotten more complicated over the years but the software never did. One time, many years ago I tried that other software from Quicken. Biggest mistake ever. It told me a for a refund, but after I filed and the software had an update, I owed, a lot for that time in my life. Never had that with this software.
