I struggled with the activation code.
I can not retrieve my 2023 taxes because I had to upgrade my Mac software. I have come to find out that my H&R 2023 State Return was NEVER sent and the state owes us a refund.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund

I did my taxes using the premium software this year rather than going to a preparer at HRB. The return was simpler and far less expensive for this retiree. In general everything was prompted well, but I had to go on line to review some definitions and regulations not explained in the software.

I've used H&R Block Deluxe + State for over 20 years without a problem but 2024 was the first exception probably due to our permanent move to another state. The instructions seemed confusing when it came time to allocate interest and dividend income to each state. Perhaps some examples would have helped.

Cons: Hard to prepare

the program should prompt you as to if you are completed filing the federal and state forms.
Also why doesn't the program file extra states electronically. I had three states to file in. Two had to be mailed.
