I used the federal plus state app and had some special situations that I usually don't have so I went to the closest office to me and the guy that helped me said from just looking at what I had done I should be ok.
I double checked with the phone support and they said the same. I double checked everything and eventually the program found no errors. I went ahead and filed online and no issues came up and I got my state and federal refunds quickly with direct deposit.

I've used H&R block for years. It's fairly easy to maneuver through the program when double checking things. Love the quick e- file for both state and federal.

It is not as intuitive as it should be, nor clearly explained when not 'next steps' are not evident. Reporting foreign income and pensions are still lacking clarity. Many of us use this software to report Canadian Govt. pensions, and there should not be as much guess work involved. To the software's credit, it is made somewhat easier by having a 'form view' readily available at the bottom of the screen.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

Got terrible advice from one of your agents and now my tax return is rejected. Called to try to get help on refiling and after 5 transfers, got ZERO help. Will be switching to Turbo Tax as they at least provide helpful knowledge vs. guessing that sends you down the rabbit hole.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
