So easy to use

I have used this program for years. It is so easy to use. It just keeps getting easier and faster. Information imported from previous years and from employer data gets results in minutes. In the time I started this review the IRS accepted my return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Loved everything about the software other than trying to get help. It says to click the button at the bottom of the help page, there is not a button there. The virtual help is useless.

Good for almost everyone, except for Charles Schwab users. Will not import. What happened?

The 2021 Deluxe version has been improved and it is easier to use and understand.

Every year IRS rejects efile and I have to mail. Always says AGI from last year is wrong and it wasn't last time or this one either. I've been doing my own taxes for 20 years and these are the only problems I have.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Surprising weaknesses

I followed the interview and then checked against last year return. The program missed several important items that would have cost me a lot (e.g., foreign tax, deducting from state return interest from government bonds, and others). And it made it entirely too difficult enter them myself. Cannot do it on the form under penalty of not being able to e-file. But it does not link to where in the interview to enter them. Overall, instructions/explanations are often not clear enough.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

It will be Turbo Tax next year

I used Tax Cut since it first came out, late 80's and just stayed with it when HRB bought it. However the inconvenience with the activation code this year is more than I am willing to accept
