Better value than Turbotax, but harder to navigate

I've been using 'Block' Deluxe software for the last five tax seasons and find it a much better value than Turbotax. The software is reasonably intuitive and has a lot of options to research specific tax situations, but I still find it difficult to navigate when trying to backtrack to locate specific inputs or investigate errors that prevent one from finalizing the return. Also, when I first began using the software, I ended up duplicating some of my capital gains entries, almost doubling my tax debt. I caught this before I filed, but was disappointed that the software did not somehow flag this duplication.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've been using this tax program for many years and find it very easy to use. This year the K-1 handling was better and I appreciate that but more help would be very useful.

I have used H&R block software for several years, changing from Turbo Tax. This year the software presented a challenge that it would not always update and when I went to send it in I was told I had to update before sending it. I updated the software and then when I tried to open it again, it said it could not find the file! I checked everywhere on the computer but to no avail. I had already put in emails, bank information, etc... and ended up having to start all over. Not happy!

I believe this is the second time I have commented on this excellent tax software, for this 2024 tax year, and it worked out quite well for us. Even though I have use it for many , many years, since the days of DOS, it still remains my go to tool for completeness, accuracy and ease of use. I volunteer for the AARP TaxAide but have not tried to use that program for my personal taxes because of my success with H&R Block. Next year I may even opt for the more fuller program if I can find a good cost deal somewhere. Keep up the great work!

Incorrect Accuracy Checks - Obsolete Worksheets

Program worked well except for accuracy check. Potential errors flagged were very frustrating. Turns out the accuracy check was using outdated tax forms that had changed for tax year 2024. It was referring to non-existent worksheets. This took me considerable time to figure out. I now have much less faith in the software I have been using for years.
Cons: Time consuming
