Process was relatively smooth but did get a bit confused with investments section where you have to input 1099b. It was my first time filling out this section and it wasn't clear that VARS-L should be used for Long Term Securities and VARS-S for Short Term Securities. It could have been explained in the Help section.
I wish there were other options to input required 1099b info such as a pdf upload feature.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

I've used the Deluxe Software for over 20 years, with a short hiatus due to special tax situations for a few years. Always a good experience, the interview format asks the appropriate questions and determines what forms are needed. I don't really have to look at any of the IRS forms, I can review the questionnaire and the summary. Top features include importing from banks and investment firms, and knowledge of obscure and seldom used forms and tax regulations. E-file fee is included in the modest cost of downloading the software.
