Good Product

Product does a passable job completing your taxes. I would like to see a feature that would make it very simple (one button) to print the current screen
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

Larger Type

For older filers, it is hard to read small type on the computer screen. Although my Apple Mac allows for increased letters/numbers, your program doesn’t allow this feature.

Good "BUT"

Type is too small. It can't be enlarged without loosing the view of the page. The Recovery Rebate Credit is confusing. It asks the question " did you receive the recovery credit, click yes or no. The question should also include " did you receive the stimulus check Yes or No. I didn't know that they are the same thing and filed my return incorrectly. Other than those complaints it was easy to use and worked good

H&R Block Deluxe -- with State

After I filed the taxes on-line, I got an email from H&R Block that my taxes had been successfully filed. Then 3 MINUTES later, I got another email, from H&R Block that the IRS had accepted my tax filing.
The tax program from H&R Block seems to work very well. It has a sort of “interview” that feeds me the questions about income, deductions, and any related data in a very organized fashion.
A major point of frustration FOR ME, is that the tax programs are continually updated.
What that means is — they keep updating their programs, so it will not work with older computers.
For a while, our 2009 Macintosh desktop computer could use the tax program from H&R Block.
Then one year, the display popped up, that the computer did not have a new enough “system” to run their tax program. At that point, I had my wife’s 2010 Macintosh laptop computer. I was able to use that tax program on the 2010 computer for a couple years. Then one year I got a display that the 2010 “system” could not run the tax program. For the last few years, I have been using my wife’s 2015 Macintosh computer to run the taxes.
It is really aggravating, because we still drive her 2009 Honda Fit (car) for all our vacation trips. And I have a 1999 Infiniti G20 (car) that I got from my son — after we gave him my 2015 Subaru as a graduation present. Sure, cars need periodic repairs and parts, and annual inspections, gasoline regularly added, and oil changes. But they are still the same basic cars, and they still work for transportation. But H&R Block (and other tax programs) keep changing their software, so it is not compatible with functional computers.
That requires us to continually replace computers, just to keep up with tax programs.
Same problem with printers. I bought a new HP printer, when the old one stopped working.
When I got the new printer set up, it would still print with the 2009 Macintosh — but it could no longer “scan” documents. Like to save documents to the computer.
My 2010 Macintosh laptop could still scan documents with the new printer.
The 2009 Macintosh desktop computer still works.
But with each change of technology and various programs, it pushes “old” computers out of functionality.
Eventually I expect that the 2009 Macintosh will no longer be able to connect to the internet, even though it works for a variety of its regular computational (and word processing) functions.
Then the same thing will happen with my 2010 laptop.
It’s just a matter of time, before functional computers have to be replaced, because new software drops out some of the computer functions.
That is the problem with so many devices. Fragile electronics. Planned obsolescence. Things just don’t keep working as long as they used to. It’s like manufacturers want things to fail sooner, so they can sell more stuff. Or they don’t know how to make things last, due to bad components in their products. Or the design is bad, so its not easy to plug in replacement parts when an item (or electronic component) burns out.
People last a lot longer than their devices.
Heck, DOGS and other pets can last longer than computers.

This program took us awhile to figure out especially since we had to input social security information in the place of a regular W-2 for income.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Improvement Needed

I've been a TaxCut/H&R Block tax program user for many years. The one thing that has always bothered me is that the "Tax Me To" link opens a window that is small, has small font, and the window hides when a line item is then selected/opened. Yes, I realize that I can enlarge the window by dragging the bottom edge, but that does nothing for the other two complaints.
So my Wish List improvements for the Take Me To window are:
• Have it open larger, preferably from top to bottom of the page, so that it's easier to find the topic without the need for so much scrolling in a tiny window or manually enlarging the window.
• Enable it to stay open until manually closed. It would need to remain moveable to any screen location, as it is now. Having it remain opened and moveable off to the side would be very beneficial.
• Make the font bigger for us old dudes.
It would have been 5 stars if not for the above.
The program itself is easy to use via its Q & A feature. Data can also be entered directly into forms if desired.

Continually Quit when I hit the NEXT button.
