Could this be any better?

I have been using the Deluxe version some 10 years now and am still delighted. It could not be any easier to use even for a semi literate computer know nothing like myself. I love the way it fills in info from last year. Incidently, you must be on the same computer for this to work or have transferred the file to your new computer. Electronic filing is also ez with the program. You can file your state with it too. It's free filing included in the cost of the program.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

The process that handles RMD is confusing this tax year and past tax years. TurboTax does a much better job.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

I had filed an appended return in 2020 and was unsure o which info to put in for the 2021 return. Refile always asks for the previous year's info, so after waiting over an hour to speak with a "Tax Pro", I was told to use the ammended return. The softer told me differently when I tried to override the AIG. The tax pro should have known the answer to that!
Pros: Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works, but repreated crashes (Mac)

I've used HRB since around 2005 and have been generally satisfied. The 2021 version, for some reason, is subject to repeated crashes on my system, a Macbook Pro running Monterey.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Makes filling much easier BUT!!!!

Makes filling much easier however, my wife passed away and the software does not allow to file State of Virginia online. Had to print and mail in to the Virginia Department of Taxation. Somehow need to fix! Thanks.

Cons: Time consuming

Inferior to other tax software on the market.

CPA with over a decade of experience grinding out returns in public accounting using countless other tax software applications, this was the worst experience by far. (i.e. For Form 8962, the software blatantly advises you to use the instructions to manually fill out the form versus guiding you through the fields like every other software.) Fingers crossed a notice doesn't result from this filing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Software for Non-Experts in Tax Laws

US tax returns, especially with small business, are in general complicated to provide information to IRS. H & R Block software makes it very easy to provide that information. I have been using this software for the last ten years.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
