I have used HRBlock for more than 10 years now. This year I could not send my return electronically because it was rejected by IRS. I was missing Form 1095A but i did not received that form from my health marketplace. IRS said they received that form. At the end, after wasting my time, i had to file by mail. More costly.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

Software works. Filing fees should be illegal.

Does the job. I've been using it for a long time. The whole business is a racket though. The IRS should just bill me for what I owe them. They have all of this information already. The fee required to file state taxes should be illegal. If I buy the software, it should enable me to do everything I need to do for all of my income tax requirements without additional fees.

We’ve been using your software for 7 years. I never really noticed how dated your it’s become. The interface is a mess. Too much of the screen space is wasted.
Navigation is worse. For example, switching among several in-progress returns stored in separate folders was bothersome. Why not have a “Recent returns” item under the File menu like every other application?
I’m got very frustrated while trying to correct problems during the review phase. It would find and highlight problems, but the suggested solutions were not helpful.
Sad to say, but I’ll be looking for another solution next year.
I’ll also be lobbying to simplify our tax model to counter the self-serving lobbying your industry does to keep it as it is.
