I’ve been using H&R Block for several years now and plan to continue to use in the future. It’s a great value and is generally easy to use. This year I was self-employed for a few months and so had to provide a lot more info for deductions. I also had to file an extension, and it wasn’t entirely intuitive how/when to do this. Couldn’t find info on home EV charger credit, too, and had to go outside the software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

I've used H&R Block software for years. In the past, it's been so easy. This year, one section was totally incomprehensible: RMD. The explanation of "Common Window" was jibberish. Unhelpful is putting it mildly.

The last 2 years my taxes have.not been transmitted and accepted by federal website. I went through the one issue and tried to transmit again and again no luck. I had to mail it in as I had to do last year also based on this happening twice I would not recommend this program . Time is money and I wasted my time 2 years only to pay taxes once again .

I have been buying the HR Deluxe program for many years and has always worked great. Recently, I found a mistake in my 2023 taxes, forcing me file an amended return.. Everything went well doing the federal return, but quickly found the software DOES NOT have the capabilities to do a state amended returns around. To me this is very disappointing since the state software is park of the package.
I would recommend this to a friend!
