Software very good at directing you if you have experience with doing taxes. On the other hand marketing is deceiving on if state file is free (it’s not). Filing out state form is free, but not the filing. Also, software made it seem that if you didn’t pay the filing fee then it could affect your electronic state filing if you didn’t file both federal and state at the same time. Well I paid the fee for state to do it at the same time and when my federal electronic file was rejected, my state also rejected the electronic file. I feel that I should be refunded my state filing fee as I had to paper file my federal form and state form due to the issue with the IRS rejection of the electronic filing.
Pros: Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used the H&R block software for over 10 years to file taxes. It's a great way to save paying someone else to do your taxes. Very affordable too. I haven't been given a reason to try anything else.
