The H*R Block servers were not accessible on 4/10 - 4/13. I could not download a state return nor file federal. And, to make things worse, the software blamed the problem on my computer. Just plain inexcusable !! I've used H&R Block for several years but no more. Next year - TurboTax.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not sure I'll use this next year. Some of the questions are not clear; I had trouble with the RMD questions, for example. Also, the forms printed to be mailed for the State return included ones that looked like worksheets, with no bar codes, and one specifically said "Not For Filing"! I'm depending on the software to guide me on what to mail.....

Needs to get better with importing 1099B from financial institute. Did finally work after way too many failed attempts. Time waste. Buy the product it needs to work when you use it.

It works to do your taxes. But often, I find that there is little overview to help me understand if I need to spend time going through a section. It does this a bit for if you itemize or take a standard deduction, but in many other places I feel like I am needlessly going through sections I could avoid if I had more of an overview.
Another example had to do with my state taxes. These did not explain anything with respect to the way different 1099-R forms were handled.
More descriptions should be available for various sections, plus more explanations on why certain things happen.

Good software, but a big change for 1st time user.

The software worked for me, but was quite different to use than the overpriced competitor, Turbotax, that I have used for many years.
I had one major problem in that I could not download data from my financial institutions until I found the authorization check box far down the page, below a large blank space.
I do plan on using it again next year.

This is a very precise and professional products I am using for a couple of decades. Amazing H&R legal support. I would recommend next year to the developer of this software to put more in evidence the ID PIN feature. The PIN changes every year. It was hidden and it kept the value from last year, so the first attempt to filing with the wring ID PIN failed.
