The software is straightforward, and if you understand what you have for income from various sources, it takes care of a lot of filling out forms by hand. I have used it now for at least 10 years, and have enjoyed reducing the time it takes to do my taxes down to a few hours. The "check for error" feature is nice to have and quickly identifies anything that you may have done incorrectly.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents

Several issues this season of program crashing and not accepting data. Plus, it incorrectly added a tax credit on returns for both me and an adult daughter - impossible since neither of us claim dependents. Caused a tax payment to be made to IRS and loss of refunds.

I’ve been using this for about 15 years or more and I love it. It’s easy and they stand by there word. I had an problem with my taxes one year and they figured out the issue, contacted the IRS and were very nice about it. They made sure I was ok with everything……. Best program ever

I've been using H&R Block Tax Software for many years now. Which included preparing my own taxes and also our parent's taxes when they were still with us. Only one time had a slight problem loading the software which was resolved promptly by their staff.

A lot of time is required "cleaning up" minor issues that the software should have done without intervention. Importing investment data brings numerous items that should be opened one at a time to verify.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming
