State program I bought never downloaded. No support at all. call center just recorded loops that run in circles. Had to pay to have state done by tax preparer.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used HR Block tax software for many years. Tax software, in general, is not as easy as the advertisements say. You need a little working knowledge of the tax process in order to succeed.

There were a couple of areas that I had trouble with. I had to take care of 2 alerts after the software checked for accuracy, but it wouldn't clear them. So, I wasn't sure if I was ok. At the end, it turned out to be ok. I have used this software for a long time and I am happy with it.

I have used this software for several years and like it very much. However this year had an issue with a partner stock, K-1, info and where the amounts went on the IRS forms etc. I "think" I force figured the amounts into the right places. Time will tell if the IRS allows what I submitted. Probably won't know for many months. So only gave the product 4 stars this year.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Good results, but can be frustrating at the end

I’ve used this software annually for 5 years or more. I like the results, but getting there can sometimes be a challenge. Specifically, there will be boxes on questionaires that you can’t uncheck even though they don’t seem to apply. And then at the end, it pulls up a list of things to check from worksheets that I have no idea what they are. You can’t proceed without addressing them. Some of it is as simple as adding a social security number to a form (why didn’t the program do that?) and some things are just baffling, and the only way to get rid of them to proceed on is to lie or change the information on them. It can be very frustrating.
I really like the fact that the program imports tax information (and carry over deductions) from previous years.
