I HAVE BEEN USING H&R DELUXE SOFTWARE FOR OVER 20 YEARS, AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY OF MY TAX RETURNS. IT IS VERY EASY TO USE AND CORRECTS YOU IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, AND I HAVE MADE ALOT OF THEM.

I have used H & R software for the past 10 years and found it to a very good product for the price. However, I recently was given a 6 digit PIN number (from the IRS) that must be on the Federal return to be accepted to file on line. I was unable to file electronically because the H & R software does not provide for the input of this 6 digit PIN number. This needs to be corrected for me to file my return electronically. I may need to switch to a different product if not corrected for 2022 Federal filing.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Handling of railroad retirement tier 1 and 2 is confusing. Inability to download software after a Win 10 reset is really irritating. A Win 10 update trashed my system and the only way to repair was to wipe and start over! You need to create a package that works with LINUX. The only reason I have not switched to Linux is no tax software.

Disappointed in not being able to download Schwab before submitting taxes. Always used this software and never had this problem before. Will change next year unless this problem is fixed.
