1. Software updates for my Mac version of the software were buggy. All updates required retries before they finally loaded. On several occasions I had to abandon the software update on the program and go to the website and it, at which time the update was successful.
2. When I was ready to electronically file the federal return, the signature page of the program asked for random 5-digit pins for my wife and me. However, we have six-digit IP Pins issued by the IRS which I could not insert at this page. It was only after I discovered that they should be added in an earlier "Miscellaneous" section was I able to successfully electronically file the return. In the future, I suggest that you make this requirement more rational and simple by moving the IRS IP Pin information to the signature page so that customers who have them can insert them as an alternative to your requirement for random 5-digit numbers.

My reason for 4 stars verses 5 is the reduction in product need for an electronic submission of state forms. Igo back many years to when at least 1 free state tax submission was permitted as part of the basic cost of the software. Returning to those days of a free state tax submission would be a valuable consideration.

I’ve been using Block tax software for years. It’s always been very user-friendly. Much more intuitive than some other options out there, and I know since I’ve been a VITA volunteer and my tax clinic uses a different brand program. My only complaint is with saving the return as a pdf, but I’ve finally figured out how to do that.

Long time customer. Generally easy to prepare and file. Some quirks here and there but that is the effect of our complicated State Taxing differences. One suggestion: allow two or more states to be submitted at once. Currently, if reporting in two states (Ie: NY & NJ). You cannot EFile together. One has to be accepted first. This may be out of your control, but if not, suggest allowing multiple state submissions at one time when forms are complete.
