It worked like a charm, leading me through the dialogs and showing clearly where and how to enter information. There was one small glitch -- no obvious way to enter information on using a Required Minimum Distribution to fund a Qualified Charitable Distribution -- but a help agent was able to help me figure that ouit.

I am a long time user of tax cut. This year's version has a bug. It does not allow e-filling federal when there are more than 5 Form8938s. Last year it allowed it.
Also the questionnaire does not lead into form 8938 when it should. Why?
Pros: Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had the wrong IP PIN # and had to resubmit my state and federal several times and was charged for each time. The transaction was on the 4-7-2025 and it is the 11th and the multiple charges are still there.

The software works well for everything I needed except for one important flaw, and one important for some filers. The important flaw is that it fails to implement correct planning for estimated tax. At the beginning it states that this part of the software is a work in progress, but this is on 1 April, with very little time left. The very significant problem with the 1040-ES computation is that the interview, and, apparently, the full form do not treat the various strategies for computing the estimated tax. There doesn't seem to be a way to implement the safe harbor strategy (110% of last year's tax), so I ended up doing it with the IRS forms, manually.
The potentially important flaw is that it utterly fails to handle publicly traded partnerships. It seems to put numbers in the correct places, but only if you figure out when they need to go on your own.

Cons: Hard to prepare
