I purchased this so that I could automatically download my financial data. After working with the finacial company they said that HRBlock changed the format by removing important fields so the data wouldn't load and that they were confused as to why HRBlock would do this - even though the company is listed in the 'import' by HRBlock as one that works with HRBlock. Also, why did I have to re-input my data from my previous years tax form for which I used HRBlock?
I received no feedback from HRBlock as to why this is happening and no update.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Comprehensive and easy to use. Directions were clear and concise. Downloading the program was easy as was navigating through both the federal and state tax returns. I have been using H&R Block tax programs on line since 2019 and I think I finished both returns in record time. E-filing was simple and efficient.

Decent software. Used HRB for 13 yrs now. Can get to details and forms and see how amounts flow thru the various tax forms which is very helpful in error checking. Still have to go to IRS website for some detail minutia, but the only way around that would be if HRB linked directly to IRS.gov for specific details, and that's not realistic.

I bought H&R Block Deluxe 2024 Software because in description it was said that is for homeowners, investors, and federal and state return. Unfortunately this product did not serve properly for the second category of users - Investors. My security which is Limited Partnership was not totally covered.

Works Well with a few Glitches and a Missing Form

I've been using H&R Block software (and the previous Tax Cut) for about 25 years. It generally works well but there are some glitches and one glaring omission.
One of the glitches is correcting errors pointed out in the accuracy check. Almost every year, there's something that's correct, but is noted as an error. Re-entering doesn't help. Sometimes it's a blank form that you didn't want included, but showed up. You then must enter all the data and zeroes. Deleting the form solves it.
And the glaring omission is Form 709 - Gifts, such as to children. There's no form available and it is never mentioned in the interview. Been that way for 20 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
