I've been using this product for 10+ years. It does the job for me. There is only a couple of places in the program where some of the required inputs and verifications are a little oblique. In this time I've never had an issue.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

I found it fairly easy, except the IRS rejected it twice because of an taxpayer ID pin issue. I eventually had to go to the IRS site and create electronic signatures, then use those. It was a pain. The 5 digit pin worked last year on Turbo Tax.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

There are several bugs which caused me problems. It seemed to suddenly and randomly lose some information, like my SEP IRA deduction and charitable contributions. When I tried to file, it wouldn't allow me to do so until I fixed four "issues" which were the dates that foreign tax was paid in foreign currency, even though I had indicated that I had not paid any foreign tax in foreign currency. When I tried entering dates, it complained that the date format was invalid. I searched online and found a reddit post in which someone said that the workaround for this bug was to enter "1099 taxes" as the "date", which I then did.
Also, to calculate income from US Govt securities in mutual funds for state taxes, the software stated that each fund in the account would have to entered as if it were from a separate 1099-DIV. This would have added about an hour of work for me, so I had to bypass the state calculation and do it manually.

Minor glitches that never get fixed, otherwise goo

Good and fairly easy to use. Don't like that state filing costs extra after paying extra for state calculations. Printing doesn't start each form on odd page when using double sided printing. No way to indicate spouse is foreign and doesn't have ssn, since program marks this as an unrecoverable error. Should be able to enter "NA". Program always doesn't like that deceased ssn is left blank even when the person isn't deceased. Otherwise I use it every year.

I was not pleased that the software couldn't handle a donation to a 529 plan. The form 709 forms required for my wife and I for Gift Tax exclusion had to be completed by Block Advisors, at an expense equal to 5 years of software. I may have to shop for another software program next year as we plan on making a similar contribution to a second grandchild.

In previous years, this program has worked very well. However, this year, many of my short term gains were imported into my long term gains category which made it very complicated and messy to try to verify. They were actually reported correctly, but just appeared under the wrong category. When I called and asked about this, they said someone would call me to review my complaint. This has never occurred.
