I've been using your tax software for many years but was underwhelmed this year with the KS state program. It did not use itemized deductions even though I used them on the federal return.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Easy to use. Pretty equivalent to having a tax prep service compile it if not better. Love that you have the audit support in case something goes wrong or have questions that can be handled in quick conversation. I have been using the H&R Tax software products since 2008 for every filing I do state/local w/annual taxes for myself. It has never failed to get me both filed and a return at or above what others who paid far more for personal tax prep were able to achieve. I have never had anything but a minor audit issue and none of those were major issues plus I had the advisor to confirm the agency findings as well as show me how to fix those issues going forward. The in person advisors are excellent if you need them and the software is reliable to say the least for tax prep & filing.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Basically the H&R Block Deluxe 2024 Software accomplished my task. However there was some funky math discrepancies. In doing my daughters taxes the software had her W-2 tax withholding an amount that was non existent. In other words she had no tax withheld but the software showed tax withholding. I tried to correct it but it would not. I contacted chat support but it blew me off with no solution.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I spent hours trying to figure out why my solar system and heating system credits, which were in the federal we're not coming out in the NYS state. Went online and saw several discussions indicating that the h&r block program has had a problem since January and we're not correcting Expect I paid $600 to $700 extra. No using next year

I have been using HRBlock software for years without any problems. This time I have many problems. I had to re-enter my W2 information 4 times, despite frequent saves. By the time I got to the end where it gets e-filed the W2 info was zero'ed out. After entering it a third time it looked correct, and my refund amount looked correct, so I submitted it. On receiving the acceptance email from the IRS it was obvious the W2 info had again been zero'ed out. So for the first time in my life, I had to figure out how to file an amended return, the 4th time I had to re-enter the info. I will be using paper next year.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
