Dood, solid program, easy to use, and covers most everything I need. I have used HRBlock software for 10 years now, and I find it trustworthy. However, you need to know somewhat what your are doing around taxes to answer the questions correctly. I failed me once, a few years ago. I missed paying taxes on a stock I cahsed in. Still not sure how this happened.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I get the software automatically each year. It's easy each year but I've seen it for less at Office Max. It's easy software to use and They update it regularly.

I started using H&R Block in 2015 when it was called TaxCut. It worked really well, and you could bundle the state version for those of us that pay state income tax. However, something happened and I pay for the Deluxe and State version but it still prompts me to purchase state once I complete the Federal. Even if I buy it again (which Ive done 2 years now '23 and '24) it still does not install and places the user in an infinite loop of "purchase state" requests. I was able to get a refund on the second purchase of state that didnt work, but that takes an interaction with support and time that you typically dont have when doing taxes. My state offers a free service for the state 1040, this is my last year buying anything other than the Federal. Federal did seem to work fine...so far.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I have now used HR Block tax software for apprx. 17years and have found that it is the most accurate for all my personal taxes.
I normally fill out the forms individually since I am a retired accountant and have never use the interview process.
