We use this software every year. It seems almost every year, there is a question where the software words it differently and causes confusion and anxiety over inputting the wrong data. This year was about the 1099R. The Help feature has never been helpful. Otherwise, the software is reasonably thorough and easy to use unless you have to go back to look at a previous entry; then it's GOOD LUCK getting back to your place.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is somewhat difficult to work with. And, at the end, when I want to print my returns on my Mac it just craps out -- doesn't print correctly. Very frustrating. Not going to use this software again.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

EASIEST SOFTWARE I HAVE EVER USED TO DO MY TAXES!

I had been using Turbo Tax for many years but became disgusted because you never really knew what the final bill would be until you filed your taxes. I decided this year 2024 tax season I would find another tax preparation software. I finally decided on H & R Block and what a difference. I knew up front what my final cost would be when I e-filed. The software was the easiest I had ever used and every thing was seamless. I will continue using H & R Block for the foreseeable future.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

ALL GOOD EXCEPT HANDLING OF FOREIGN TAX CREDIT OVER $600 ON FORM 1116. HAD TO SEARCH INTERNET TO FIND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PROPERLY FILE OUT FORM TO MAKE THE CREDIT SHOW UP ON FORM.

Prior years adjusted income was wrong somehow. Caused my return to be rejected. I spent 1/2 hour trying to override default entry and then resubmit my return. Not sure how this is even possible.

I have used your product for years. This year I had a problem with the program relative to small business reporting. I had to redo my information four times before it was right. Each time when I got to the “alerts”, the program would delete my expenses and double my income. I was finally able to make it work by ignoring your alert. Very frustrating.

I really liked how you made doing taxes so easy with features like taking pictures of documents and having information populate into the form. The software is also very helpful with helping me understand what it is that is being asked for. I read a three because I was very frustrated two years in a row with not being able to file my state electronically because the software did not have the form for charitable contribution to foster nonprofits. I believe it’s formed 301 or 302. If that one form would be available I’d give you 10 stars.
