Update bug

This software charged me three times to edit my state return because it would send it without updating. The problem was, it wouldn’t update. Each time it asked for my credit card. Finally updated after having to reboot my Mac. This update bug had been there for some years now. It needs to be fixed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Been using it for a few years now. My taxes are not very complicated and it fits my needs.
Did find a minor flaw in Arizona state tax this year. In the final 2024 accuracy check, it refers me to a potential problem and an incorrect line number in a form (I verified this by going to the Actual Arizona state form and instructions for the correct info). In other words, I was getting a false positive for a non-issue.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Your verification messages are very confusing. You provide no help in telling me what is wrong and what I have to do to get rid of the messages. Example is I’m 62, but have NO 1099-R, but your program continues to believe I have social security income. Called support, but they couldn’t figure it out. I’ve used your program for 10 years and this could be my last.

I have used HR Block software since 2020.The federal return works well enough for me, however I have done my own taxes since I first needed to file some decades ago. If I were new to this, I would be more concerned about the lack of context-sensitive help.
The PA state efile has failed for the last 3 years, for 3 different reasons. I was forced to print and mail a paper return the last two years, and am white-knuckling it down to this year's deadline to see if a software fix comes through or I help keep the Post Office in business.

Works fine, some bugs, endless price fluctuation

Has some issues with unchecking things you don't want or need on your taxes. The program insists on asking you about things or forms that don't apply. At no point in the taxes I prepared was a mention of Social Security payments received. Why? Because none were received. Yet, the program kept asking to complete a form that didn't apply when it did the "Issues and Problems" check before submitting. This wasn't a problem last year. Also, you folks send endless emails with wonderful price deals..."Save 15%, Save 20%, Buy and Download now." In following weeks I received other offers for the same software at either higher or lower prices than were offered during the "Sales." Why the games with pricing?
