I've been using this program for years and haven't had any issues with my taxes. The one negative thing I can say is there are too many irrelevant questions. If only these could be narrowed down.

I’ve used this software for about 20 years and have generally been more than satisfied. However, this year when I went to compete our taxes, I discovered that one of the state returns I need to complete did not support part-year residency. It would have been nice to know this before I purchased the product, especially since I also discovered that a competitor’s product did support part-year residency from that state.

Way better value than anything else on the market. Calculations and methodology were near identical to TurboTax for a small fraction of the price (in this case close to 5x). UI leaves something to be desired but I can't complain at this price point.
Key distinction that was not marketed to me but probably should have been and contributed to the price difference: this Deluxe version allows users to do 1099-DIV, 1099-B, and 1099-INT without upgrading to a Premier or something equivalent.
Pros: Maximizes refund
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not as easy as previous years

I’ve been using H&R Block Tax software for many years. It’s always been quite easy to follow along without help or support. Until this year’s 2024 Deluxe Software. There were a few sections where the questions were difficult to understand, especially in the section about Required Minimum Distribution. The people manning the support phone number were very friendly and eager to help but had no ready answers. One support agent I spoke with admitted that many people had complained about the complexity of this year’s software. In one case, my issue was escalated to level 2 support. They also had difficulty with the way the tax questions were written.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
