I have been using H&R Block Tax Software for many years now with very good results. Typically, it has been right on point with helpful links and quick and easy entries to make. It also appears to catch errors and even if the user misses the correct entry point, the program will catch it and self-correct the multiplication factors affected.
The only difficulty I encountered this year (2024 tax year) is the lack of any references to non-deductible contributions I've made while working to IRAs and 401K programs. This also involves maintenance of your record of such non-deductible contributions and Form 8606. No mention was made of this (unless I missed it somehow) and as a result I may have paid taxes twice on the affected funds, resulting in a slightly higher tax payment. I could not find any help on this via the tax software and filed my return accordingly, knowing that any difference would be minimal.

Too many software glitches when it came time to efile. Kept requiring a program update over and over with no positive results. Up to that point the program was flawless.

I've been using HR Block for 6 or 7 years, . My tax preparation and process hs gone quickly and smoothly. I have only called "Support" once to explain something that the Federal forms couldn't. The other program I use always left me with questions that I couldn't get any answers for. I will always use HR Block.
