This year's version is kind of buggy. Example: I decided to split the refund, part toward next year's taxes and part as a refund check. The program called it an error and said I had to allocate the entire amount to refund check(s).
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it except for not importing from PC to Mac

You need to develop a way to import previous tax returns from a PC to a Mac. Right now I have to go back to an old old old PC to do my taxes which is so very slow.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to import documents

Purchased on sale at the start of the year, and the software is fine. The interview process is very straightforward and it's easy to put all the info from my forms in. Two downsides in my book: the state e-file fee is kind of high, but I just pay it for convenience, and the updates don't tell you what has been fixed/updated (patch notes could be nice). One quality of life thing that should be added: if you set a date for taxes to be withdrawn from a checking account, include the date on the "check status" page.
Pros: Easy to prepare

The Deluxe version of the software fulfills my current tax reporting needs.The only issue I have is the combined cost of the Federal and State program knowing that there is a FREE Federal program online. For someone that is retired and on a fixed income it can be a bit costly.
