The software seems through and well thought out. Only one problem in 3 years. When submitting the 2024 state (PA) return I was instructed to attach a file, a .pdf or it would not submit. The software wanted a file named something like "Wage Summary ......... .pdf". I can't remember the full name. When I picked the highlighted spot on the screen to find and attach I could not find it. I had to scan a page myself and name it the same name the software said was needed.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for Federal Return. State needs improvement

I have used H&R block for many years. I am happy with the software, but i believe that improvements can be made for the data transfer to the state (Alabama) return. There are always many data omissions that must be followed up on and manually corrected before the state return can be filed. Many of the omissions are not well described and require research to resolve.

Now I am retired and it takes so little time to bring in last years information, update with current incomes and deductions and within a really short time be able to submit both my Federal and state income tax forms. And with no errors as the software does an amazing job of checking everything before submitting.
