Overall a good product but have never tried the competition in the same category. Interview is a good premise but bounces around to where it tends to skip some forms that one needs to address. My procedure would be to go through every possible contingency to ensure that nothing is skipped. Schedule C and self employment eg 1099nec is confusing in that it does not integrate the interviews to separate schedules that might be linked. It's okay to dumb things down as much as possible since the average taxpayer is not a professional. The audit process is okay gives some reassurance. When issues are found though one fixes them presumably but when getting back to the same step again it still flags the same ones when it's clear they've been fixed. Then you have to override and hope the steps were correct. Online help is not there with respect to phone calls or chat. Gave up on that too long a wait and/or trying to understand an agent that has poor English.
It is an inexpensive way to do taxes and does away with paper. During COVID had 2 years in a row where the IRS lost my forms and didn't know it until the start of the next tax season with a letter that claimed my taxes were never filed.

I've used this for several years. I like the features better than TurboTax. I tried upgrading the software this year after my initial purchase when they had a special price
They recieved their payment but it would never let me upgrade the software. I work long days and am not willing to sit on the phone to try to resolve the issue. Just fix it if it's a known issue because I'm not interested in wasting my time.

I have used the H&R Block package for many years. It accurately picks up all my details from prior years. But this year’s package (2024 tax years) did not run as smoothly as in past years. It was a bit harder to navigate among the forms and input pages.
