I've always used H&R Block. Great value. I would love to see more forms incorporated into the software however. Form 709 gift tax form as an example.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Confusing at parts. Not sure when to input information. check at end does not allow me to edit forms to fix problem. data noot carried over by software.

After first use, your information is promulgated into future year’s returns saving time and effort. I can recommend it for seniors and people with simple returns.

Overall I had a good experience. But it was distressing to get a message to update the federal form on March 27 just as I was about to submit my federal and state returns. I had just applied another update earlier in the month but why was there an update this late? I have used this app for at least the past ten years and have never encountered anything like this!

Software - OK. Could be more intuitive to use.

Pricing is questionable. When originally offered, 2 years ago, one could purchase a state product with the Federal, but when it was time to download the software, it said I did not have the state software (even though I was charged for it) and I had to repurchase it separately at a higher cost. Succeeding years, I have not purchased both at the same time for fear of the same happening again. AND, curenlty, the cost of purchasing the state separately is higher than buying the federal.
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!
