I have been using H&R Block Deluxe software for several years ever since TurboTax raised their prices for their Deluxe version. It has been at least as good as TurboTax if not better. HIghly recommend!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Good interview and calculations, except for LTC longterm care issue. I ended up deleting the LTC portion of the form because of the issue, but since there was no LTC benefits received during the year, maybe that was okay.
Pros: Maximizes refund

Again, for the umpteenth year, I have used H & R for my tax returns, and again, it never fails.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

It’s a program that needs some work - def not TTax

I really, really wanted to like this program, but it is a significant 2nd place to Turbo Tax. The interview questions and program flow is not as user friendly as the big brother. The absolute broken area that needs to be fixed s when you have dividend income that is exempt from state tax and the operator s required to enter a percentage of US treasury obligations. When you have a combined 1099R and this program says you MUST manually create a new 1099R form for every equity/position is false information and IMPOSSIBLE to do. HR Block gets an “F” in this area. They need to look at how their big brother does it, and copy them. Outside of this area, I’d rate the overall experience as “D+” … I won’t be using this program next year even though it’s cheaper than the alternative nor would I recommend it to friends or family. HR&B, you can do much better!
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Generally good and met my needs. My main criticism is that I still couldn't paste any information into it. That was particularly annoying when trying to enter strong passwords. Same problem as last year.
