Have been using H & R Block for years. I am comfortable with the software. A little difficult to find things, but it gets easier as you go along.

I used the product was good until I went to file would only let me file fed. Then I tried to file state when I tried to file it dumped it me teck support spent an hr. With mre until it took could not k status on them .all went thru got my refunds will use program next year
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have used this tax software for several years, and it works well.
But the State software refers to required Federal forms, but not which ones.
This year the State software made it difficult to select the "married-filing-separately" on same form option.

have been using it for several years and find it fairly easy to use, especially since the format remains consistent from year to year. I also like the fact that I can bring last years return data that doesn't change from year to year into current year return.

Kept dumping me into confusing forms for very simple things; kept flagging things that it should have handled itself. Importing my W2 from a scan had errors that resulted in the IRS rejecting my taxes. My taxes aren't complicated: A W2, sold some stock, and had an FSA for childcare.
Cons: Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used the program for many years. I was disappointed this year that one of the forms I needed for my state return wasn't included and therefore I had to file my state return via mail. There are some quirks in the federal program, but after using it for several years a user learns ways to work around those problems.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Ive used HRBlock for about 10 yrs. Past 3 consecutive years, I have had NO SUCCESS IN ELECTRONIC FILING, despite multiple attempts & following instructions to the T. After frustration each attempt, I have ended up submitting my returns by USPS. This will likely be the last year I use HRBlock, as I will attempt an alternate provided for 2025 return to realize the benefits of electronic filing
